Activation means that the caller rendered a research or coverage result and saved its baseline locally. Retention means that the caller later checked that baseline. Its facts, diffs, evidence state, freshness, and trigger are deterministic. A lower-capability model can render the result but cannot change these fields. V1 exposes research tools only.
